Mission Statement

The mission of Vedic Lotus Yoga is to share the practice of yoga with all people in an accessible, authentic, and compassionate manner, to promote well-being, and to help individuals recognize and rise to their highest potential.

About Amanda

Amanda (E-RYT 500, YACEP, CPYT, M.S.) has dedicated herself to the practice, study and teaching of yoga since 2013. Throughout this time, she has taught more than 6,000 hours of the practice.   She completed a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Arkansas State University in 2011 and began practicing yoga as a way to reduce stress soon after.  As her own practice grew, she began to share this knowledge with others by becoming a Certified Yoga Instructor in 2013.  She also become a Master Reiki Practitioner through study at the Ozark Holistic Healing Clinic.   Her passion for the practice of yoga led her to Rishikesh, India in 2017.  There, she studied with many knowledgeable teachers in the sciences of Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga, meditation, pranayama, and Ayurveda.  She also obtained a 200 hr YTT from Akshi Yoga Shala.   In 2019 she continued her yogic education, focusing on leadership, with another 200 hr YTT and an apprenticeship in Vinyasa Yoga at Griffin Power Yoga in Jonesboro, AR.  In 2020 she studied under her primary teacher in Rishikesh, India learning Ayurveda, pranayama, meditation, and vedic science.  She also expanded her knowledge of anatomy and disease prevention culminating in a 300 hr YTT in Yoga Therapy from Vedansha Institute of Vedic Science and Alternative Medicine.  In 2021 She completed her RYS 85 hr Prenatal Yoga Certification.    Amanda is known for a teaching style that is authentic, compassionate, and empowering.  She applies the ancient wisdom of the yogic system to the modern world in a way that is useful and accessible.  Her goal is to promote wellbeing and to help people reach their highest potential.  Best of all, you can see her love for the practice every time she shares it with you!  Amanda makes you feel comfortable with yoga no matter your level of experience and is skillful in guiding you toward your goals.

When she isn’t practicing yoga; you can find Amanda enjoying time with her family and friends, hiking, traveling, and spoiling her best furry friend who happens to be a chihuahua.   🙂
